TASTING NOTES -

Grown on the Valor Ridge Estate that sits perched at 2,654 feet above sea level, the rocky terrain of the Sierra Foothills provides the perfect backdrop for this expressive and evocative single-vineyard Barbera. Aromas of black plums, spiced cherries, volcanic loam, licorice, wild herbs, black pepper, pie crust, and wild blackberries lead out of the glass as soon as you pop the cork. A palate of sweet red berries, cherry cobbler, slate, and crushed rocks is backed by fine-grained tannins full of spiced minerals, leading to a refined and energetic finish. A singular expression of this varietal that highlights the unique rocky red aiken soils of this special plot of mountain dirt.
