2007 Special Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Rated Outstanding by Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

"Saturated red-ruby. The highest-pitched and most floral of these 2007s, with aromas of dark berries, licorice and violet. Sweet and lush but energetic, with lovely floral perfume lifting and framing the blackberry and blueberry fruit flavors. This really spreads out to saturate the palate without leaving any impression of weight. Very suave already, but give this four or five years to blossom in bottle."

2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Rated Outstanding by Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

"Ripe, complex nose melds black raspberry, violet, bitter chocolate and licorice. Sweet, deep and firm, with insidious intensity to the flavors of cassis, graphite, licorice and menthol. This, too, shows a medicinal reserve. Finishes with a serious tannic spine and noteworthy persistence. A year ago, I marginally preferred the cabernet franc to this cuvee, but these tannins have evolved nicely and today I prefer this wine for its greater depth of fruit.."

2007 Cabernet Franc Rated Outstanding by Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

“Musky redcurrant, cherry, cedar and flowers on the ripe nose. Supple but serious, with a chocolatey ripeness but also a medicinal reserve to the currant, blackberry and licorice flavors. This has more body but less perfume than the young 2008, and plenty of broad tannins to support a positive evolution in bottle..”

2007 Petit Verdot Rated Outstanding by Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

“Bright full ruby. Violet and cocoa powder on the nose. Large-scaled and chewy, conveying a distinctly muscular impression. At once exotic and peppery, but youthfully clenched. Finishes with a major mouthful of tannins.”

2007 Roussanne Rated Outstanding by Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

“Beeswax and citrus fruits on the nose. Then big, viscous and dry, with an intriguing saline complexity to the flavors of herbal tea and bitter orange peel; conveys a pronounced linalool character. Very complex and subtle wine with a slight phenolic edge. Don't serve this one too cold. "

2007 Barbera Rated Outstanding by Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

“Good full red. Raspberry, bitter chocolate and licorice on the expressive nose. Slightly high-toned and juicy, with excellent acidity intensifying the dark cherry flavor. A very convincing, fruit-driven barbera.”

2006 Special Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon rated Cellar Selection - Outstanding by Wine Enthusiast

“This is a wine that requires concentration to appreciate. Tasted blind, it’s hard and impenetrable. When you understand its origins, it becomes clearer, a mountain wine of strong, shut-down tannins, but with a core of black currants. The vintage was not a great one, but the wine will benefit from up to six years in the cellar.

2006 Special Reserve Rated Outstanding by Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

“Bright medium ruby. Claret-like aromas of cassis, plum, licorice, leather, fresh herbs, olive and pepper. Juicy, supple and sweet, with lovely intensity and inner-mouth perfume to the cassis, fresh herb and tobacco leaf flavors. Very old school in style, and the most elegant of these 2006's. Finishes with broad, dusty, sweet tannins and lingering perfume. This will need a minimum of five years of cellaring.

2006 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Rated Outstanding by Wine and Spirits

Soft and rich rather than powerfully structured, this Diamond Mountain red is plump in the middle, with luscious flavors of blackberries and figs.

2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Rated Outstanding by Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

“Good full red-ruby. Currant, black cherry, cedar, licorice and a whiff of tea leaf on the nose. Silky, scented and light on its feet, but more backward today than the cabernet franc and dominated by its spine of acidity. Best on the finish, which offers sneaky length and subtle sweetness. Carrying a moderate 13.5% alcohol.

2006 Cabernet Sauvignon rated Cellar Selection - Outstanding by Wine Enthusiast

“You’ll want to cellar this one, because it’s tight and hard in tannins, as befits a well-made Diamond Mountain Cabernet. Entirely dry, it has a strong heart of cassis. But the structure is impeccable, and all it needs is time. Best after 2011 and probably well beyond.

2006 Cabernet Franc Rated Outstanding by Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

“Moderately saturated ruby-red. Cool aromas of blueberry, violet, cedar and tobacco leaf. Suave and concentrated, with sneaky intensity and creaminess to the redcurrant and tobacco leaf flavors. I like the combination of sweetness and juiciness. An aromatic and rather understated wine that nonetheless possesses plenty of personality.

2006 Petit Verdot Rated Outstanding byStephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

“Deep medium ruby with an inky aspect. Black fruit aromas are currently overshadowed by licorice, violet, pepper and a meaty aspect. Offers a penetrating impression of acidity for a wine with a pH of 3.92, giving the dark berry and violet flavors lovely clarity and intensity. Finishes with a serious spine of dusty tannins. A fascinating petit verdot bottling that merits following.

2006 Merlot Rated Outstanding by Connoisseurs Guide

“Brimming with deep, impressively extracted, ripe-cherry fruit and filled out by loads of very sweet oak, this broad and wonderfully well-balanced Merlot marries richness with an uncommon sense of polish and comes up a big winner on every count. It shows the varietal's supple side yet is structured in a way that commends keeping, and those willing to be patient for four or five years will find their forbearance rewarded with a complex and compelling wine.
